At 9 a.m., learn about the Historic Salem Church and its vital role during the Chancellorsville Campaign of the Civil War with former National Park Service historian Don Pfanz. Park at modern Salem Baptist Church. At 10:30 a.m., Mt. Zion Baptist Church on Harrison Road will give a presentation on the church’s founding in the 1860s and its latest project to interpret and preserve its cemetery. Optional tours follow. From 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Wilderness Baptist Church on Plank Road combines the “Churches Remember” event with its Heritage Festival.
